The Salad Bar is a place where you can pick out little habits to give you clarity and meaning. I'll update this list regularly and keep an eye out for a more detailed post on each tip.

Minimize
o If you have a collection, ask yourself if it represents an insecurity you have.
o Leave the same number of plates, bowls and utensils as people. Pack the rest away
o One tv
o Give away your books
o Question the convenience ’factor of doubling stuff up
o Schedule, have a whole Saturday or Sunday to yourself
o Set a budget for your hobbies
o Fishing gear as example
o Often there are three lures that will do 99% of the job, so get two of each and only go with 6 lures. Instead of carting around 50 different lures you wont end up using.
o If you are worried about loosing or breaking it, then don’t buy it in the first place. Oargee plow lure example
Buying stuff and budgeting
o No spend streak of three days per month
o Don’t spend more than $100 on one thing unless it is one of my top three hobbies
o Eat less meat 200 grams a serve is enough for lunch and dinner.
o Meatless Mondays
o Buy used before buying new.
o Don’t go to the shops without a list and budget
o Pay any bills that will arise as soon as you get paid
o Don’t buy something you are likely going to replace
Hobbies
o Spend at least half your time and money on your favourite hobby
o Before making a hobby purchase, look at your priority list. Are you sinking money into your least favourite hobby?
o Focus on one small aspect of your favourite hobby and be an expert at it.
o Contribute to your hobby by sharing your findings
Exercise
o 3x10 situps
o 20 minute walk
o 10 minute run
Nutrition
o Carry a water bottle
o Always have two bags of mixed frozen veggies in the freezer
o Stick to this for five days and get healthy take out on the 6th day
o Scatter trail mix bags everywhere
Life Admin
o If you can do it in 20 minutes, do it now.
o Remove desk clutter
o Take photos of your physical photos and records in paper that you hold on to
o Roll your clothes in the drawer
o Wear the same work clothes every day (not the EXACT same clothes)
Building character
o Have one conversation a week where you do 5% of the talking
o Volunteer once a month
o Eat slower
o Speak slower
o Pause before speaking
o Don’t give advice unless it has been requested
